Stock market update: Nifty Bank index 1.13%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a note on Tuesday.

Shares of Canara Bank(up 3.36 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 3.31 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 2.83 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 2.28 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 2.1 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Bank index closed 1.13 per cent at 52695.75.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 181.11 points at 24457.15, while the BSE Sensex stood 597.67 points at 80845.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and NTPC Green Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Madhav Copper, BSL Ltd, Enviro Infra Enginee, Dharamsi Morarji and Banaras Beads hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aki India, C.E. Info Systems, Dhanvarsha Finvest, Akshar Spintex and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
