Stock market update: Nifty Bank index 0.83% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded around 09:59AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 9.44 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.32 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.4 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent) and Canara Bank(up 0.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.94 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.14 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.33 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was 0.83 per cent at 48941.60 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.15 points at 23233.35, while the BSE Sensex was 167.64 points at 76786.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Wipro, Kalyan Jewellers Ind and Tata Teleservices were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ashapura Minechem, Atlas Cycles, ARSS Infra, California Soft and Super Spinning hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SKIL Infrastructure, JP Associates, Poddar Housing, Visa Steel Ltd and Seya Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
