Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 2.54%
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.54 per cent down at 10661.0.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of TIINDIA(up 0.92 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Ashok Leyland(down 4.48 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 3.6 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 3.49 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 3.32 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 3.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.54 per cent down at 10661.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 391.5 points at 16677.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 1306.96 points at 55669.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 ended in the green, while 45 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, TV18 Broadcast and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Gallantt Ispat, Rajnandini Metal, GSS Infotech, J Kumar Infra and Cupid Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Market, Karda Const, Uma Exports Ltd., Krishna Defence and Allied Industries Ltd. and Camlin Fine Sc hit their fresh 52-week lows.
