Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.95%

The Nifty Auto index closed 1.95 per cent down at 13080.75.

Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Thursday.

Shares of Hero MotoCorp(up 2.3 per cent), Escorts Kubota(up 1.66 per cent), MRF(up 0.52 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 0.16 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 5.32 per cent), Tata Motors(down 4.84 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 3.39 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.94 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 2.77 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Auto index closed 1.95 per cent down at 13080.75.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 128.8 points at 18028.2, while the BSE Sensex stood down 419.85 points at 60613.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Union Bank India, YES Bank and FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Linc Pen Plast, BSL Ltd, Refex Industries, Kriti Nutrients and Ion Exchange hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Team Lease Service, Aurobindo Pharma, Quess Corp, Jayant Agro Org and Everest Kanto hit their fresh 52-week lows.
