Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.21%
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.21 per cent down at 10448.4.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.
Shares of TIINDIA(up 2.23 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.16 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries(up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries(down 3.62 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 3.19 per cent), MRF(down 3.02 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 2.39 per cent) and Bosch(down 2.31 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.21 per cent down at 10448.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 169.45 points at 17117.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 571.44 points at 57292.49.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 ended in the green, while 40 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, NALCO and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Selan Expl Tech, Krishana Phoschem, Ruchira Papers, Vaishali Pharma and Southern Petro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while DRC Systems India Ltd., FutureLifestyleFash, Future Retail, PayTM and Felix Industries hit their fresh 52-week lows.
