Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.19% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Maruti Suzuki(up 0.22 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 3.32 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 2.38 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 2.27 per cent), Tata Motors(down 2.26 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 1.63 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was down 1.19 per cent at 10915.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 110.45 points at 17257.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 378.32 points at 57905.1.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries, Suzlon Energy and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of NDTV, Total Transport Sys, Greenlam Ind, Precision Wires and Next Mediaworks hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Patel Integrat(PP), Vasa Retail & Overse, Vikas Multicorp(PP), SVP Global and Gulf Oil India hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
