Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.98% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:15AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.2 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.15 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(up 0.1 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 3.7 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.4 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.66 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was down 0.98 per cent at 16740.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 45.65 points at 19686.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 222.03 points at 65572.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of RattanIndia Power, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DRC Systems India, Talbros Auto, MOIL, Kopran Ltd and Manoj Vaibhav Gems N hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rajesh Exports, Penta Gold, ASK Automotive, SS Infrastructure and APM Finvest hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
