Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.81% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:30AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was down 0.81 per cent at 23711.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 49.85 points at 25145.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 153.4 points at 82417.51.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Network18 Media, Ola Electric Mobilit and RattanIndia Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Fischer Chemic, Magellanic Cloud, Sangam Renewables, Mas Fin Services and Ddev Plastiks Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while LCC Infotech, HDB Financial Servic, Vipul Ltd, Pritish Nandy and Welspun Investments hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
