Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.74% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:05AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.
Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 2.7 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.29 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.74 per cent at 25526.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 39.5 points at 23518.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 21.67 points at 77322.81.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.
Shares of Indus Towers, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra and Rashtriya Chemicals were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kalyani Forge, Windsor Machine, Tirupati Forge, LE Travenues Techno and Prajay Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials, We Win, Madhav Marbles, Bang Overseas and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
