Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.7%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.
Shares of TIINDIA(up 4.08 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.06 per cent) and Eicher Motors(up 0.71 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 3.42 per cent), MRF(down 2.16 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 1.77 per cent), Tata Motors(down 1.61 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.7 per cent down at 10754.7.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 56.65 points at 15350.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 237.42 points at 51597.84.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Vedanta and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Cheviot Company, Globesecure Technologies Ltd., Priti International, Apar Industries and Dangee Dums hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vivimed Labs, Umang Dairies, FACT, Aban Offshore and Mahamaya Steel hit their fresh 52-week lows.
