Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.55% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:39AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.
Bharat Forge(up 1.21 per cent), TIINDIA(up 0.22 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.09 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Eicher Motors(down 1.54 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.4 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 1.36 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.2 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.5 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.55 per cent at 13342.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 20.15 points at 18125.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 95.37 points at 61025.98.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Shares of PNB, Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and LIC Housing were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Karnataka Bank, AXISCADES Engineeri, Mazagon Dock Ship, Silly Monks Entertai and Frog Cellsat Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Retail, Narmada Agrobase, Penta Gold, Williamson Magor and Rel Capital hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
