Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.45% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 0.26 per cent) and Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 1.31 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was down 0.45 per cent at 20694.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 16.61 points at 22214.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 90.89 points at 73186.11.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Indus Towers and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vaswani Ind, Thyrocare Tech., Filatex India, Dhruv Consultancy and Umang Dairies hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vibhor Steel Tubes, Vaxtex Cotfab, Capital Small Financ, Nagreeka Capital and Entero Healthcare So hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
