Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.44% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 0.46 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 1.67 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.92 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.44 per cent at 16206.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 97.2 points at 19567.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 359.25 points at 65586.22.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IFCI, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mohit Inds, Signet Ind, Vipul Ltd, D P Wires and Gillanders Arbu hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Yasons Chemex Care, Vedanta, Madhusudan Masala, Nuvama Wealth Manage and Chavda Infra hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
