Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.33% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:26AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Bajaj Auto(up 1.74 per cent), TIINDIA(up 0.99 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.93 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 0.91 per cent) and Escorts Kubota(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.14 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.82 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.78 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.77 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was down 0.33 per cent at 13274.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.9 points at 18085.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 46.8 points at 60952.89.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, IDFC First Bank, YES Bank, BEL and M&M Financial were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Murudeshwar Cera, Varun Beverages, Karnataka Bank, GRSE and Unichem Labs hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Manali Petro, Rel Capital, Williamson Magor, Dhanuka Realty and SREI Infra Fin hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
