Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.31%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.
Shares of Hero MotoCorp(up 3.82 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.48 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.36 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.2 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 1.91 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.78 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.65 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(down 0.56 per cent) and MRF(down 0.54 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.31 per cent down at 15343.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 26.45 points at 19570.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 106.98 points at 65846.5.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Fin, Vodafone Idea, Zomato, Reliance Power and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Banco Products, Hisar Metal Ind, Sabar Flex India, Pritika Auto Ind and PTC Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Synoptics Technologi, Godha Cabcon & Insul, SS Infrastructure, Richa Info Systems L and ASL Industries hit their fresh 52-week lows.
