Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.22% in a weak market
The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.22 per cent down at 21605.05.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:25AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 0.71 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) and Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 0.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.22 per cent at 21605.05 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 25.25 points at 22489.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 73.6 points at 74154.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, JP Power and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Arvee Laboratories, SCI Land and Assets, Indraprastha Med, Bhartiya Intnl and NCC hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bodhi Tree Multimed, 3rd Rock MultiMedia, GIR Natureview, Lakshmi Precis and Shyam Telecom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
