Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.12%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Bosch Ltd.(up 2.32 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.47 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.26 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Exide Industries Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.58 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Auto index closed 0.12 per cent down at 25495.25.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 84.25 points at 24936.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 375.61 points at 81559.54.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ola Electric Mobilit, Suzlon Energy and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Deep Industries, CL Educate, TBZ, Syncom Form and Balu Forge Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Baazar Style Retail, Stampede Cap(DVR), Compuage Infocom, Mahalaxmi Fabric Mil and Globale Tessile hit their fresh 52-week lows.
