Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.05%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Friday.
Shares of Eicher Motors(up 1.55 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.52 per cent), MRF(up 1.21 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 1.13 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.86 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 2.14 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.33 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.32 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 0.91 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International(down 0.32 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.05 per cent down at 15391.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 55.1 points at 19310.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 202.36 points at 64948.66.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 36 closed in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, Alok Industries, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Concord Biotech Ltd., Tara Chand Logistic, AB Cotspin India, Flexituff Ventures and IRIS Business Servic hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vishal Fabrics, Yudiz Solutions, Penta Gold, Allcargo Terminals and Easy Trip Planners hit their fresh 52-week lows.
