Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.04% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:14AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Ashok Leyland(up 1.56 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.11 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.79 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.36 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Escorts(down 8.07 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 1.12 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.61 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was down 0.04 per cent at 10902.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 86.6 points at 17721.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 335.66 points at 59274.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, JP Power, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea and Shree Ren Sug were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Uma Exports Ltd., Shree Ren Sug, BLS Int. Services, TheBykeHospitality and Mohit Inds hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Debock Sales & Mktg, Shakti Pumps and Felix Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
