Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.84%
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.84 per cent up at 11115.2.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra(up 4.22 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 4.18 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 4.1 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 2.43 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 1.66 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 3.09 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 2.93 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.49 per cent), MRF(down 0.97 per cent) and Escorts(down 0.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.84 per cent up at 11115.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 51.45 points at 16214.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 37.78 points at 54288.61.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, BHEL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Akshar Spintex, SP Refractories Ltd., Commercial Engg, Apcotex Ind and Lancer Container Lin hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JSW Steel, Tata Steel, NMDC, SAIL and Prudent Corporate Advisory Services Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
