Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.33% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Tata Motors Ltd.(up 3.13 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.17 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.16 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(up 1.21 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 1.33 per cent at 19128.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 86.86 points at 21608.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 276.0 points at 71415.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, IFCI, Indian Renewable and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vakrangee, Jyoti CNC Automation, Mahamaya Steel, Policy Bazaar and Godfrey Philips hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Digidrive Distributo, VIP Ind., Vedant Fashions, Radaan Media and Latteys Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
