Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.32% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:56AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.49 per cent), Tata Motors(up 2.42 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(up 1.66 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.32 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bajaj Auto(down 0.12 per cent) and Eicher Motors(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 1.32 per cent at 12794.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 223.5 points at 18082.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 763.96 points at 60664.33.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 47 were trading in the green, while 3 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, IDBI Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Prozone Intu Proper, Lambodhara Text, 3P Land Holdings, Rama Steel Tubes and Pearl Polymers hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sumeet Ind, Jyoti Structure, RBM Infracon Ltd., CMM Infraprojects Ltd. and Paras Petrofils hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
