Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.98% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Tata Motors Ltd.(up 3.41 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.91 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.61 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 1.81 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 1.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MRF Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.98 per cent at 22961.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 22.2 points at 24357.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 83.65 points at 80557.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Welspun India, Suzlon Energy and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of BSE, Reliance Naval & Engg, Cura Tech, Bharti Airtel(PP)and Bharti Airtel hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Godha Cabcon & Insul, GI Engineering, AGS Transact Tech, Gujarat Lease and Gensol Engg hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
