Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.88%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.
Shares of TIINDIA(up 14.65 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 3.98 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.31 per cent), Bosch(up 1.04 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries(up 0.48 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bharat Forge(down 1.04 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.02 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.69 per cent) and MRF(down 0.2 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.88 per cent up at 11521.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 40.7 points at 17888.95, while the BSE Sensex stood down 109.4 points at 60029.06.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.
Shares of Tata Power, Vodafone Idea, Bank of Baroda, YES Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bharti Airtel(PP), Kotyark Industries Ltd., RPP Infra Proj(PP), Mangalam Organics and Allcargo Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bayer Cropsc., Servotech Power Syst, Pasupati Acrylon, Mahindra EPC and Aarti Drugs hit their fresh 52-week lows.
