Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.85% in a weak market

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.85 per cent up at 12618.0.

India 10-year bond yield rose 0.37 per cent to 6 after trading in 5.99-6.01 range.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

MRF(up 4.3 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 4.2 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.33 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 1.33 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(up 1.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TVS Motor Company(down 0.16 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.12 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.85 per cent at 12618.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 1.7 points at 18041.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 71.63 points at 60585.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PNB, Vodafone Idea and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kapston Facilities, Eurotex Ind, TVS Srichakra, Vadilal Ind and TVS Electronics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Jyoti Structure, Sumeet Ind, Paras Petrofils, Ishan International Ltd. and Consol Const. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
