Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.76%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

Shares of Bosch(up 4.05 per cent), TIINDIA(up 3.16 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 2.13 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(up 2.13 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 1.47 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries(down 0.91 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.39 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Auto index closed 0.76 per cent up at 10483.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 156.65 points at 16770.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 497.0 points at 56319.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Zee Ent. and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of C.E. Info Systems Ltd., Manaksia Coated, MTNL, Pokarna Ltd and TCI Express hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., SVP Global, HEC Infra Projects, Federal Mogul and Niraj Cement hit their fresh 52-week lows.
