Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.75%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.75 per cent up at 14840.55.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Tata Motors(up 2.36 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 2.13 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.98 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.44 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International(up 0.88 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.95 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.54 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.53 per cent) and Bharat Forge(down 0.38 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.75 per cent up at 14840.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 154.7 points at 18972.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 499.39 points at 63915.42.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, YES Bank and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of JBM Auto, Veekayem Fashion, V-Marc India, Dhunseri Petrochem and Windsor Machine hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ansal Prop, Penta Gold, Varanium Cloud, Urban Enviro Waste and Power & Instrument hit their fresh 52-week lows.
