Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.72% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Exide Industries Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.3 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.72 per cent at 21527.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 171.4 points at 24023.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 540.94 points at 79094.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, IDFC First Bank and Eternal were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Shree Vasu Logistics, Jash Engineering, Reliance Naval & Engg, NACL Industries and Panacea Biotec hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Next Mediaworks, Eros Media, Kesoram Inds., Gensol Engg and Varanium Cloud hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
