Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.71%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.
Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International(up 2.38 per cent), Bosch(up 2.2 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.18 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.72 per cent) and Eicher Motors(up 1.67 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 2.45 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.54 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.97 per cent), MRF(down 0.46 per cent) and TIINDIA(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.71 per cent up at 13283.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 82.65 points at 18147.65, while the BSE Sensex stood up 242.27 points at 61354.71.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, Zomato Ltd. and Rail Vikas Nigam were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Datamatics Glob, Peninsula Land, Ircon Intl., Welspun India and Lokesh Machines hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gallantt Metal, Lagnam Spintex, Parin Furniture, Party Cruisers Ltd. and Transwind Infrastruc hit their fresh 52-week lows.
