Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.67%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Friday.
Shares of Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 2.03 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.0 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.61 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 1.41 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.92 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.67 per cent up at 16102.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 92.9 points at 19819.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 333.35 points at 66598.91.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Indian Railway Fin, Reliance Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of IndiaPowerCorp, Bombay Burmah, Trans & Rectif, Emmbi Industries and Power Finance Corp. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Sandur Manganese, Brookfield India Rea, Parin Furniture and Mohini Health & Hygi hit their fresh 52-week lows.
