Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.64% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.42 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 2.09 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.97 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 1.95 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.64 per cent at 18614.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 194.66 points at 21656.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 657.27 points at 71844.13.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, NHPC, Vodafone Idea and HUDCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ganesh Housing, Intrasoft Tech, Liberty Shoes, HUDCO and Orient Press hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Digidrive Distributo, Stampede Cap(DVR), Tata Technologies, Flair Writing Indust and Nagreeka Capital hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
