Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.55% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Exide Industries(up 1.38 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.28 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.17 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.07 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.89 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(down 1.73 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.55 per cent at 11542.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 138.55 points at 18194.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 507.45 points at 61124.34.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd., Indo Rama Synth, Menon Bearings, Vaswani Ind and Dynacons Sys hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while PayTM, Foce India Ltd. and Vikas Ecotech (PP)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
