Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.48% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:45AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 2.5 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 1.52 per cent), Tata Motors(up 1.48 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 1.25 per cent) and TIINDIA(up 1.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TVS Motor Company(down 1.34 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.1 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.14 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.48 per cent at 12694.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 50.85 points at 18241.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 179.33 points at 61313.21.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, IOB, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Avro India, Tainwala Chem, Gujarat Pipavav, Baheti Recycling Industries Ltd. and Pritika Engineering Components Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Elin Electronics Ltd., Sintex Inds., Godha Cabcon & Insul, Zim Laboratories and Goenka Diamond hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
