Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.47%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 8.99 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.05 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(up 1.21 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.47 per cent up at 17852.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 27.7 points at 20997.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 102.93 points at 69928.53.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, Reliance Power and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of BAG Films, Arvee Laboratories, Cheviot Company, Nila Spaces L and Indian Renewable hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Bohra Industries, Raj Rayon, Blue Jet Healthcare and Sheetal Cool hit their fresh 52-week lows.
