Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.46% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Bajaj Auto(up 1.55 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.29 per cent), Exide Industries(up 1.23 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.9 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.87 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 1.33 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.86 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.46 per cent at 11190.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 31.5 points at 17836.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 111.29 points at 59967.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Intnl Conveyors, Lagnam Spintex, Delta Manufacturing, MIC Electronics and Talbros Auto hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while McDowell Hold and HEC Infra Projects hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
