Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.42% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:34AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.
Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.43 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.43 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 1.39 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 0.9 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.42 per cent at 16514.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 8.95 points at 19760.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 0.05 points at 66282.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
Shares of Easy Trip Planners, MMTC, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Tantia Const, Landmark Prop, Prakash Pipes, MSTC Ltd. and Super Spinning hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Delta Corp, SS Infrastructure, SEL Manufact, Lakshmi Finance and Winsome Yarns hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
