Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.24% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:39AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Balkrishna Industries(up 1.05 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(up 0.77 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.45 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.43 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 0.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Eicher Motors(down 0.36 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.31 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.24 per cent at 11343.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 151.55 points at 17897.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 499.22 points at 60101.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vardhman Hold, Salzer Electro, Share India Sec, OM Metal Infra and KPIT Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shri Ram Switchgears, Foce India Ltd., A and M Jumbo Bags L, PayTM and McDowell Hold hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
