Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.23%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.23 per cent up at 13032.35.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Thursday.
Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 2.78 per cent), Tata Motors(up 1.58 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(up 1.45 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 1.14 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 0.91 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TVS Motor Company(down 3.61 per cent), TIINDIA(down 3.18 per cent) and Eicher Motors(down 1.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.23 per cent up at 13032.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 5.7 points at 17624.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 64.55 points at 59632.35.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Lemon Tree Hotels and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of TECIL Chemicals & Hydro Power Ltd., Royal Orchid, Kirloskar Elec, Shera Energy Ltd. and SML Isuzu hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while IL&FS Invest, Optiemus Infra, BEML Land Assets, Genesys Intnl and VELS Film Internatio hit their fresh 52-week lows.
