Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.11% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:56AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

TIINDIA(up 2.44 per cent), Bosch(up 1.15 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.44 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.29 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Samvardhana Motherson International(down 0.99 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.68 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.44 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.42 per cent) and Tata Motors(down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.11 per cent at 14234.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 4.95 points at 18603.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 15.86 points at 62830.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, YES Bank, Zomato and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Force Motors, Jeena Sikho Lifecare, ISGEC Heavy Eng, Pondy Oxides and Man Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Bombay Metrics Suppl, Krishca Strapping So, Shigan Quantum Tech and Silly Monks Entertai hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
