Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.08%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.
Shares of TVS Motor Company(up 1.07 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.92 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.68 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.55 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.34 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 1.92 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.23 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.45 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.4 per cent) and MRF(down 0.36 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.08 per cent up at 14729.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 126.2 points at 18817.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 446.03 points at 63416.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 12 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, Zomato and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rane(Madras), Prime Focus, Rane Brake Lin, FACT and V-Marc India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Power & Instrument, Varanium Cloud, TECIL Chemicals, Shree Ram Proteins and Suumaya Lifestyle hit their fresh 52-week lows.
