Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 2.17%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a note on Wednesday.

Shares of ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 4.34 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 3.13 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 2.88 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Auto index closed 2.17 per cent at 22765.20.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 324.41 points at 23559.05, while the BSE Sensex stood 984.23 points at 77690.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 1 ended in the green, while 4 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Zomato and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Shyam Telecom, Excel Realty N Infra, Viji Finance, Panache Digilife and Sri Adhikari hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Loyal Textiles, W S Industries, Fairchem Organics, Satia Industries and R K Swamy hit their fresh 52-week lows.
