Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.84%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a note on Thursday.
Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.61 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.49 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 1.4 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.8 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.84 per cent at 22876.10.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 22.55 points at 23750.2, while the BSE Sensex stood 0.39 points at 78472.48.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Vishal Mega Mart, Ola Electric Mobilit, YES Bank and Sagility India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Cube Highways Trust, Gala Precision Engin, Inventurus Knowledge, Garuda Construction and International Gemmol hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vertoz Advertising, Hathway Cable, Odigma Consultancy, Digjam and Filatex Fashions hit their fresh 52-week lows.
