Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.83% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded around 10:08AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 1.33 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.71 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(up 0.53 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 0.08 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 2.47 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.35 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.75 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.17 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was 0.83 per cent at 23520.30 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 23.25 points at 24245.15, while the BSE Sensex was 55.26 points at 80165.11.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Sagility India, Tata Teleservices and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of 3P Land Holdings, Marksans Pharma, Pix Trans, Aries Agro and Shree Rama Multi hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adani Green, Adani Transmission, Digjam, Supreme Engineering and Nandan Denim hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
