Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.71%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a note on Wednesday.
Shares of Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 2.5 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 1.19 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 1.01 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 2.24 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.78 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.65 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.47 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.71 per cent at 23584.00.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 10.3 points at 24467.45, while the BSE Sensex stood 110.58 points at 80956.33.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ola Electric Mobilit, JP Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Niva Bupa Health Ins, Bang Overseas, Lincoln Pharma, HEG and Shivalik Rasayan hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dhanvarsha Finvest, Rajesh Exports, Aki India, Capital Small Finance Bank and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
