Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.67% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Exide Industries Ltd.(up 0.24 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.76 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.17 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.96 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was 0.67 per cent at 23630.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 248.6 points at 24419.65, while the BSE Sensex was 819.57 points at 80929.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PC Jeweller and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Rudrabhishek Ent, Dharamsi Morarji, Chaman Lal Setia, Vimta Labs and Kalyani Steels hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Odigma Consultancy, Ecos(India)Mobilit, Tata Technologies, Naga Dhunseri Group and SMS Lifesciences Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
