Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.65%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a note on Tuesday.
Shares of TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 2.34 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 1.5 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.42 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.97 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(down 0.02 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.65 per cent at 23752.40.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 181.11 points at 24457.15, while the BSE Sensex stood 597.67 points at 80845.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and NTPC Green Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Madhav Copper, BSL Ltd, Enviro Infra Enginee, Dharamsi Morarji and Banaras Beads hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aki India, C.E. Info Systems, Dhanvarsha Finvest, Akshar Spintex and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
