Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.52% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded around 11:21AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.64 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 1.24 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was 0.52 per cent at 22979.40 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 10.56 points at 23802.85, while the BSE Sensex was 19.21 points at 78718.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, ITI Ltd, Sagility India and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Worth Peripherals, Sundaram Brake, Laxmi Goldorna House, Kabra Extrusion and Arihant Superstructures hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while DAM Capital Advisors, Sanathan Textiles, Odigma Consultancy, Hardwyn India and CMI Ltd hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
