Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:40AM
Oriental Trimex(up 1.97%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.49%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.64%), KIOCL(up 0.52%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.21%) were among the top gainers.
Pokarna(down 4.32%), Aro Granite Industries(down 4.08%), MOIL(down 1.47%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.43%), NMDC Ltd(down 1.16%) and Coal India(down 0.63%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 66.5 points down at 17549.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 112.48 points at 59595.6 at around 10:40AM.
ITC(up 4.59%), Britannia Industries(up 3.85%), SBI Life(up 1.95%), Infosys(up 1.42%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.39%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.21%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.15%), HCL Technologies(up 1.09%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.95%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.87%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 9.12%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 5.5%), UPL Ltd(down 4.33%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 4.22%), Bajaj Finance(down 2.62%), Eicher Motors(down 2.33%), HDFC(down 2.19%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.11%), Tata Steel(down 2.09%) and NTPC(down 2.03%) were trading in the red.
