Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Monday's session.
Parag Milk(up 10.04%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 5.75%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 5.53%), Vadilal Industries(up 5.25%), Varun Beverages(up 5.06%), Hindustan Foods(up 4.99%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 4.77%), ADF Foods(up 4.56%), Future Consumer(up 3.57%) and Nakoda Group(up 3.52%) stood among the top gainers.
Nestle India(down 1.17%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.47%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.14%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.11%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.11%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 207.8 points up at 18014.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 721.13 points at 60566.42.
IndusInd Bank(up 4.17%), State Bank of India(up 4.02%), Hindalco Industries(up 3.12%), Tata Steel(up 2.69%), Coal India(up 2.65%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.53%), Axis Bank(up 2.44%), ITC(up 2.42%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.38%) and Adani Enterprises(up 2.05%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 2.02%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.99%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.43%), Nestle India(down 1.17%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.47%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.46%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.34%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.15%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.14%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 0.08%) closed in the red.
