Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.

Hatsun Agro Products Ltd.(up 7.58%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 7.39%), ADF Foods Ltd.(up 5.00%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 4.58%), Dodla Dairy Ltd.(up 4.43%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(up 4.06%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(up 4.01%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(up 3.31%), Gopal Snacks Ltd.(up 3.26%) and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(up 3.21%) stood among the top gainers.

Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(down 1.16%), Emami Ltd.(down 0.42%) and Hindustan Foods Ltd.(down 0.05%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 374.25 points up at 22535.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1089.18 points at 74227.08.

Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 4.48%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 4.46%), Cipla Ltd.(up 3.46%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 3.44%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 3.32%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 3.3%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 3.28%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 3.23%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 3.11%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 3.02%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.16%) closed in the red.
